All Line CARSTAR in Bolingbrook, Ill., recently held a ceremony to deliver a restored 2004 Saturn Vue to the Earley family, as part of the nationwide Recycled Rides program coordinated by the National Auto Body Council (NABC).
 
The Earley family includes matriarch Debra, her daughters Jadia, Jatundra and Jasmine, granddaughter Delilah and her elderly mother-in-law, Louise. Debra suffers from osteoarthritis and struggles with visual impairment caused by diabetes.  After she lost her husband to cancer and their car broke down, her eldest daughter moved back in to help, but they’ve spent the past year without transportation, making it challenging for the family to get to doctor’s appointments and work.

More than 100 people attended the ceremony in which the Earleys were presented with the car, including many elected officials. Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar officiated the ceremony and handed the keys to the family.  

“Not only was the Earley family grateful for the vehicle, but we collectively raised enough money to pay for one year of full-coverage insurance as well as countless donations for gas, oil changes and other vehicle maintenance,” said Michael Kostick, All Line co-owner. “Having this vehicle will brighten their lives and make it easier for them to accomplish the daily tasks most of us take for granted.”

American Family Insurance, Enterprise, Meineke, Auto Glass Center, Auto Tech and Transmission, BASF, Simonize, Jantz Parts, Heartbreak Towing, and Allstate Insurance all made donations toward the project.
 
All Line plans on participating in Recycled Rides again in 2009. The NABC’s planned donation date is Nov. 23.
