Talk about a close call. A report from United Press International says that a small plane buzzed a car in Nye County, Nev., damaging the car's roof and windshield with its landing gear.
Despite the barnstorming incident, the only injury reported was a non-life threatening one to the head of the driver of the car.
UPI reported that Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot admitted he was purposefully attempting to fly close to the car when the incident occurred. The pilot and driver, however, did not know each other, and police offered no other details about the connection between the two people.
According to the UPI story, federal regulations stipulate that pilots are supposed to keep a minimum distance of 500 feet between their aircrafts and any person, vehicle or structure.
