The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers, Minnesota (AASP-MN) announced that the following students have been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship award to support their continued studies in the automotive industry:

• Timothy Berg, South Central College, Mankato – Automotive Service Technology program

• James Cunningham, MN State College Southeast Technical, Winona – Automotive Service Technology program

• Brandon Janey, St. Cloud Technical College, St. Cloud – Auto Body Collision Repair program

• Patrick LaQua, Dakota County Technical College, Rosemount – Automotive Service Technology program

• Steven Lindgren, Century College, White Bear Lake – Automotive Service Technology program

• Cordell McClain, Century College, White Bear Lake – Automotive Service Technology program

• Alex Mueller, MN State Community & Technical College, Moorhead – Automotive Service Technology program
 
• Neil Newman, Dakota County Technical College, Rosemount – Automotive Service Technology program

• Colton Wade Olson, Ridgewater College, Willmar – Auto Body Collision Repair program

• Nicholas Reiter, St. Cloud Technical College, St. Cloud – Auto Body Collision Repair program

• Brandon Rislow, MN State College Southeast Technical, Winona – Automotive Service Technology program

• Dominic Rucci, Dunwoody College of Technology, Minneapolis – Auto Body Collision Repair program

• Steve Tarnowski, Dunwoody College of Technology, Minneapolis – Auto Body Collision Repair program

• Emily Tollefson, Riverland Community College, Albert Lea – Automotive Service Technology program

• Ashley Weidensaul, St. Cloud Technical College, St. Cloud – Auto Body Collision Repair program

Thirty-eight students from 14 schools applied for the scholarships. Scholarships were available to students entering the 2nd year of a NATEF-certified automotive program.  

Applications were reviewed by a committee of industry representatives, with consideration given to scholastic achievement, education and career goals, financial need and written recommendations.  

The scholarship awards are the centerpiece of AASP-MN’s Automotive Education Fund, which was established to provide financial resources to support automotive students, enhance automotive programs and raise awareness of career opportunities in the independent automotive service industry.
