The wreck of his 1953 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn was heartbreaking to German Josef Rossfeldt...literally.
One of only two such vehicles on the planet, the rare car was Rossfeldt's baby. According to a report from the Agence France-Presse (AFP), Rossfeldt was blissfully bopping along on a motorway in Bavaria recently when an 85-year-old man did a U-turn and crashed into the classic, reportedly causing Rossfeldt, 57, to have a heart attack. The cause of the crash? The elderly driver was blindly following the directions of his navigation device.
Fortunately, Rossfeldt has made a full recovery from his heart attack. His car, however, is a write-off.
