Rhode Island Bill Requiring Independent Appraisals Awaits Governor’s Signature
6/24/2010 8:07:23 AM

The Rhode Island Senate has passed a bill (SB 2508) that would make it an unfair claims practice to fail to require independent appraisals of vehicles that sustain damages in excess of $1,500. It would also require an independent appraisal from an appraiser not affiliated with the repair shop.

To be enacted, the bill must be signed by the governor.
