The class will focus on working toward ongoing continuous improvement while implementing production practices that emphasize the elimination of wasteful processes, with the ultimate goal of improving customer satisfaction and increasing shop profitability. Key discussion points for the day include:

• The origins of lean

• Running a shop more efficiently and effectively

• Raising output quality while lowering operating costs

• Capturing market share through continuous improvement

• Maximizing production and profit opportunities

• Developing systems and processes to assure greater customer loyalty

The class will be taught by Steve Feltovich, manager of business consulting services for Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp.

"Business improvement in our uncertain economy requires a different focus and approach," Feltovich said. "Now is the right time to redesign your business model by utilizing the powerful principles of lean production. Lean collision repair shops are able to reduce internal costs and raise their level of output quality while gaining a competitive advantage in their markets."
