AAIA Releases Updated Antitrust Compliance Statement of Policy
4/26/2011 1:06:18 PM

In light of recent allegations of anticompetitive conduct in the aftermarket auto lights industry, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association has reviewed and updated its Antitrust Compliance Statement of Policy.

"Although AAIA is not aware of any allegations against AAIA of anticompetitive conduct, AAIA and its members must nevertheless remain vigilant to ensure full and complete compliance with the antitrust laws," said AAIA President and CEO Kathleen Schmatz. "With this in mind, AAIA has reviewed and updated the Antitrust Compliance Statement of Policy for the AAIA. This Statement of Policy sets forth our commitment to compliance with the antitrust laws and provides examples of the most critical 'Do's and Don'ts' for antitrust compliance as related to member participation in AAIA activities."

Schmatz is asking AAIA members to review the Statement of Policy and voice any questions, comments or concerns.

"AAIA has a long history of full and complete compliance with federal and state antitrust laws and we look to our members to help conduct our association in such a way as to avoid any potential antitrust exposure in the first instance," said Schmatz.
