Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes announced it will hold its next 2011 A-Plus Network University EcoLean workshop at the Double Tree Arctic Club Hotel in Seattle, Aug. 9-10, 2011.

The EcoLean program is for collision shop owners and managers who are interested in leveraging the power of lean production as well as business solutions that reduce environmental waste. Sherwin-Williams says the program has been a huge success, and the majority of its quarterly, regionally-held workshops have been sold out.

EcoLean workshops teach collision repair shops to take advantage of both lean production and green business solutions through a sustainable program to drive profitability through the reduction of waste.

The EcoLean Level 1 course curriculum includes:

• Introduction to EcoLean: A workshop covering solutions to address current environmental issues.

• Improving Body shop Efficiency: A course focused on the theory and mechanics of lean production.

• Principles of 5S: A course centered around the importance of eliminating clutter inside a collision center, and how to leverage the power of a clean, disciplined environment to deliver superior quality and consistency.

• Building a Lean Culture: A course covering the importance of building a lean culture inside a collision center – from the ground up.
