ASA Says Attendee Registrations More Than Double for ASRW 2011
7/14/2011 8:48:56 AM

Attendee registration for Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) is tracking significantly ahead for the upcoming 2011 event, said the event's sponsor, the Automotive Service Association (ASA).

Comprised of the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) and the Congress of Automotive Repair & Service (CARS), ASRW is scheduled for Oct. 5-8 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Registration has been open for five weeks, and ASA is claiming that so far, numbers for expo-only and conference attendees are near record levels compared to the events' recent history. As of the week of July 11-15, ASA is reporting that overall registration for both NACE and CARS is 163 percent ahead, and conference registrations are 378 percent ahead. The growth is largely attributed to ASRW's new East Coast location.

"We responded to the industry earlier this year in relocating ASRW to the East Coast, and the industry is, in turn, responding favorably to these changes," said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. "While we do expect these percentages to even out somewhat over the coming weeks, it's incredibly exciting to see such an increase. We're thankful that automotive service and repair professionals, and those who serve them, are demonstrating their support so dramatically. With this influx in registrations and the show floor continuing to fill up, ASRW will grow this year, and it's going to be a great event."
