QPC Launches Facebook Contest to Increase Awareness of Aftermarket Part Bill
9/14/2011 4:43:19 PM

The Quality Parts Coalition (QPC) launched a "Me and My Car" contest today on Facebook for a chance to win a Garmin GPS nuvi 3750 and a $150 gasoline gift card.

As the QPC is anticipating the introduction of a bill that will address car manufacturer design patents soon, it's hoping to engage with consumers in the hopes of not only capturing their love for their cars, but also raising awareness about cost-effective ways to repair them while encouraging them to take action by signing the petition.

"We're doing this contest not only to capture the connection drivers have with their cars, but also to raise awareness about the importance of affordable auto parts alternatives when the time comes for consumers to repair their cars," said QPC Executive Director Eileen Sottile.

The contest, which runs from Sept. 14 to Oct. 14, invites car owners to reflect on their fondest car-related memories – whether it involved fighting over who got to ride "shotgun" on a family road trip, driving to their favorite band's concert, visiting a secluded hideaway with a special someone or watching a scenic view from their car.

To enter the contest, consumers must first click the "Like" button on QPC's Facebook page and fill out the registration form. Next, they have to upload a photo of themselves with their automobiles at a unique or special location. Finally, they must post a story about a positive, memorable experience with their car in 1,000 characters or less.
