Repair Standards Advisory Committee Enters Next Phase of Feasibility Study
10/27/2011 10:04:46 AM

The Repair Standards Advisory Committee, formed by the Collision Industry Conference (CIC) to assess the appetite for standards in the U.S. collision repair industry, announced that it has concluded the industry research phase of the feasibility study for standards. The Advisory Committee will present an overview of its work, including the next steps necessary to complete the study, at the CIC meeting to be held at the Las Vegan Hilton Nov. 2-3.

"The industry support for this feasibility study has been very strong," said Michael Quinn, chair of CIC and co-chair of the Repair Standards Advisory Committee. "The CIC has had a long history of promoting new ideas and supporting the advancement of the collective collision industry. The work on the feasibility study for establishing repair standards is the latest in a long line of accomplishments for the conference."

The committee will present its update on the second day of the CIC meeting in Las Vegas. The group is working to analyze the research and incorporate the input into a comprehensive report to be delivered to the conference in early 2012.

In addition to the report from the Repair Standards Advisory Committee, a full slate of presentations from CIC committees is planned from 8 a.m.-noon on Nov. 2 and continuing on Nov. 3.

The group has already received commitments for more than $41,000 of the $60,000 needed to complete the business case this year.
