The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) has released a guide for all members designed to help them successfully complete their 2018 auto body license renewal before the Sept. 30 deadline. The guide, prepared by AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant, is exclusively available to current AASP/NJ members.
Every year, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission makes a few changes to the renewal process which can make it confusing, explains Bryant. AASP/NJ prepares a checklist designed to break down the process for shop owners so they’re aware of what applies to them and what does not. For example, the application packet may include forms that do not apply to the majority of shop owners; therefore, the process may be easier than many realize. AASP/NJ’s checklist goes over every step of the process from required signatures to insurance requirements and mandatory certificates.
Also, Bryant reminds all that the renewal deadline is Sept. 30, not Aug. 15. The August deadline only applies to those shops that have changed their business origination, structure or address.
Bryant, who has been involved in the industry for five decades, is meticulous in his preparation of the guide. He says he has received many calls from members thanking the association for putting together the checklist.
“AASP/NJ is constantly working to provide assistance to our members in any and all situations that arise in the auto body industry,” stated AASP/NJ. “This guide is a great example of how being a member is invaluable to succeeding in today’s automotive repair industry. The benefits we provide to members will more than pay for their dues 100 times over.”
