BASF announced that JF Launier’s 1967 Pontiac Acadian, painted with R-M Onyx HD “Italian Passion” custom red, took home Best Street Machine and Best in Class at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, Calif., in January.

The Grand National Roadster Show is the longest running indoor car show in the world. The year 2016 marked the 67th year of the show, and more than 500 show vehicles competed for awards.

JF Launier of JF Kustoms in Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada built the ’67 Pontiac Acadian, also known as “Andiamo” – which took home the Best Street Machine and Best in Class at the show – in just seven months.

“The idea that our build quality for a competitive street machine is also an award-winning show car is over the top,” said Launier. “The paint color was a special blend specifically developed for the car. We’ve nicknamed the color Italian Passion.”

Mike Freeman, R-M Market Segment manager for BASF, added, “JF is a true craftsman. We’re very proud to be a part of another award-winning creation.”
