Automotive trade school Ohio Technical College (OTC) has spent more than 40 years preparing students from across the country for rewarding careers in automotive maintenance, performance and restoration. The school is continuing its training with the new OTC Evolution of Life Road Show a live airbrush demonstration that tours high schools and events around the country and features a 75-foot tractor trailer that the school has transformed into a mobile classroom complete with practice paint stations and school videos.
The airbrush tour will be on display at the Detroit Autorama, Feb. 26-28, 2010, at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Mich.
"As baby boomers retire, the need for qualified automotive technicians will continue to grow, and competition for those qualified workers will result in more high-paying skilled labor jobs for today’s youth. We are committed to providing students with the advanced education needed to secure exciting, rewarding jobs in the automotive industry," said Tom King, director of enrollment management at OTC. "Our Evolution of Life Road Show is an excellent way to not only share our school’s unique Custom Paint and Graphics course, but also to showcase the wide variety of technician training programs we offer ranging from Auto-Diesel and Classic Car Restoration to PowerSport Technology, Alternative Fuel Vehicles and more. Plus, it is the first mobile classroom that allows both students and the public to experience airbrushing in a unique environment."
The Evolution of Life Road Show will feature famed professional airbrush artist Richard Markham, who is an instructor for OTC’s Custom Paint and Graphics program, performing live airbrush demonstrations as he shares details of the school’s 12-week course that teaches airbrushing, 3-D paint effects, exotic paint, chameleon colors, flames and pinstriping. Markham’s custom cars "The Devil’s Ride" (1934 Ford 3-window Coupe), the "Ice Car" (2000 Toyota Celica) and the "Pumping Iron" (1932 Ford) will also be on display for students to check out during the event.
