Axalta Coating Systems released a new post on its Color Block blog titled, “Radiant Red from Head to Toe Puts on a Fabulous Show” that discusses how travel writer Kimberley Lovato came to terms with her own radiant red hair, a color that also happens to be Axalta’s 2015 Automotive Color of the Year.

Lovato sat down with Lisa Miree-Luke, Axalta’s head of corporate affairs for North America, to discuss how she learned to accept and love the role that the color red plays in her life. It wasn’t always easy for Lovato, who was often teased about her bright red hair while growing up in Los Angeles, a city that didn’t seem to have a lot of redheads, but she was able to embark on a journey of discovery that included a trip to Ireland. You can read about her experience in her essay titled, “Pretty Red on the Emerald Isle.”

“Kimberley is a thoughtful writer whose unique perspective really comes out in her writing,” said Miree-Luke. “Her stories of empowerment and self-discovery are inspirational in a way that anyone can relate to. We’re excited to show the impact radiant red has not only on the auto industry, but also to the human experience.”
