The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) announced that I-CAR will be hosting three events over the course of the weekend at NORTHEAST 2018.
From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, Michael Bonsanto and Peter Fryzel of I-CAR will be presenting Squeeze-Type Resistance Spot Welding (WCS04). The class will show attendees how effective spot welding is for minimizing the heat-affect zone, as more vehicles are manufactured with high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel.
Bonsanto and Fryzel also will discuss the countless other benefits of spot welding for attaching body panels and components, among which are decreased damage to corrosion protection and replication of production weld appearance.
Registration is required for the tuition-based course. To register, visit i-car.com or call (800) 422-7872.
I-CAR also will be offering two sessions on the Washington Metropolitan Auto Body Association-produced Collision P.R.E.P. (Professional Repairer Education Program) Free Stage – one on March 16 and one on March 18.
Allan Smith will be presenting I-CAR Training & Welding Technology Today, a session to help attendees jump-start Gold Class training. The class will focus on the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment Program, and also will discuss the Repairability and Technical Support (R.T.S.) Information Portal on the I-CAR website.
Fryzel will be presenting MIG Brazing & Rivet Bonding, in which attendees will learn today’s technology for tomorrow’s vehicles, as well as discuss why continued training goes hand-in-hand with completing a safe and proper repair.
The sessions will be available from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 16, and from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, on the Collision P.R.E.P. Free Stage in the NORTHEAST Pavilion.
AASP/NJ’s NORTHEAST 2018 Automotive Services Show will be held March 16-18 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, N.J. For more information, and to pre-register for free today, visit aaspnjnortheast.com.
