Collision Care announced that, through its charity of choice, “Louie’s Voice, Speaking Up for Autism,” recently donated a refurbished vehicle to a North Philadelphia mother.
Icylee Basketbill picked her daughter up from school and thought she was going back to work when she was stopped in her tracks and given the keys to a fully refurbished red Chevy HHR. When Basketbill’s 10-year-old daughter was diagnosed with autism, she has made it her mission to help other families facing that same diagnosis. She drives families to training classes on autism, and her old car was not in good shape.
“It’s just been so tough,” Basketbill says. “You really learn who your friends are, you know who can help you. I had to invest in Zip Car, which is convenient but expensive.”
The car giveaway was made possible by Collision Care, Louie’s Voice and AAA Insurance with parts donated by Bryner Chevrolet, Bergey Chevrolet, Karr Parts and Glenside Auto Spot.
