Dan Key Joins Axalta as Head of Global Operations

Axalta Coating Systems announced it has appointed Dan Key as senior vice president, operations and supply chain. In this capacity, Key will oversee Axalta’s extensive manufacturing network of 35 production facilities and 6,000 employees working on six continents. He also will be responsible for the delivery of products to customers around the world.

Key joins Axalta from Sigma-Aldrich, where he served as vice president and chief supply chain officer and oversaw global operations at 53 sites with more than 5,000 employees. Prior to Sigma-Aldrich, he was vice president for Integrated Supply Chain at UOP, a Honeywell company. At Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Key was vice president first for its Global Manufacturing Inks and Adhesive Resins Division and then its Global Manufacturing Coatings and Inks Division. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Northstar Print Group, Morton International and Westinghouse Savannah River Corp.

Key holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois – Urbana and a Master of Business Administration from Clemson University.
