DuPont Custom Finishes has introduced a line of 24 new CFX Candy Basecoat colors that will be featured in their booth at the Las Vegas SEMA Show, Oct. 30-Nov. 2.
Traditional candy colors consist of a tri-coat application, which includes a basecoat color and a transparent candy color followed with a clearcoat. The result creates an illusion that leaves the impression of unbelievable color depth, saturation and gloss that cannot normally be obtained using a standard basecoat and clearcoat system. This process also makes the painting task more challenging and a match extremely difficult.
Spraying DuPont Custom Finishes CFX Candy Basecoat colors provides the same vibrant color and dimension of a candy with the ease of application and color match of a normal two-stage basecoat, according to the company. The new basecoat candy formulas are designed to provide a variety of color options that are easy to apply even for a novice painter. In the event that additional parts require painting or repair, the candy color formula can be retrieved for an easy color match.
The new CFX Candy Basecoat colors will be on display in booth 22391 in Hot Rod Alley, Central Hall. The colors will be represented with a display of custom artwork painted by artists from Southern California in a painting event organized by Lowrider Magazine.
