Keenan Auto Body, a Pennsylvania-based multi-shop operator, hosted its fourth annual First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.) training program for southern Chester County first responders on Nov. 14 at its Kennett Square location.
ESI Equipment, a Holmatro rescue equipment dealer, delivered the latest information in vehicle extrication technology to local first responders. Craig Camacho, Keenan’s marketing director, claims that this training is “more important than ever” due to the “rapid onslaught of advancements in vehicle design,” such as high-strength steels and multiple airbags.
Steve Martin along with another technical trainer of ESI instructed attendees with hands-on demonstrations as well as information regarding airbag deployment and other dangers that first responders encounter on a daily basis.
In addition, State Farm Insurance Co. donated four late-model vehicles for first responders to practice on at the event, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car sponsored the catered dinner provided by the Brown Derby of Kennett Square.
