The South Florida Sun-Sentinel recently reported that police departments in three Florida counties (Davie, Miramar and Pembroke Pines) joined together to check motorists’ insurance paperwork for fraud.
Representatives and investigators from 31 insurance companies set up shop at the Pembroke Pines police headquarters. By doing this, officers who responded to crashes or speeding drivers could get instant verification of valid insurance coverage.
Police told the Sun-Sentinel that they would need a few days to tally results.
