Popular “Guess the Car” Contest to Go Live at BodyShop Business Conference & Trade Show

Next week’s BodyShop Business Conference & Trade Show, which features free trade show admission for collision repairers, has a host of exciting, hands-on activities lined up for attendees. The event is slated for Thursday, May 5, at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Ill.

Fans of BSB’s monthly Guess the Car feature will be treated to a live version of the guessing game on the show floor. Clues will be revealed hourly, and attendees will be able to submit their guesses for a chance to win $50. What makes this Guess the Car so unique? The actual car – kept covered, of course – will be on the show floor.

In addition, several exhibitors will be bringing along their own custom cars, boasting unique and pristine paint jobs.

Looking for some more friendly competition? The Iowa Waste Reduction Center’s VirtualPaint experience will allow attendees to show off their spraying skills, without the mess of actual paint. VirtualPaint simulates the experience, helping painters pick apart their moves and make improvements where needed.

Once you’ve warmed up with VirtualPaint, why not try the real thing? Anest Iwata and SATA are letting attendees test their guns side-by-side in a "spray-off." Attendees who try both guns will be entered into a drawing to win either an Anest Iwata or SATA spray gun — winner’s choice.

Along with these hands-on experiences, there will be several opportunities for free training on the show floor, provided by BASF, CCC and Valspar.

Trade show attendees will also be treated to two keynote presentations.

The first, at 8 a.m., will feature insurance and collision industry veteran Bill Sefcek. Sefcek’s talk, "Forging and Keeping Strategic Relationships," will help repairers gain and maintain successful relationships with consumers, insurers, vendors, fleet accounts and more.

Next, at 12:45 p.m., noted PBE expert Mark Clark will host a panel discussion about waterborne/low-VOC coatings, featuring representatives from major paint companies. The talk will address repairers’ most frequently asked questions about making the conversion.

If you’re looking for even more education, consider attending our day of excellent breakout sessions for just $79. Human resources, waterborne/low-VOC, shop owner and consumer legal rights, sales/marketing and more will be covered.
