PPG 2011 Show Truck Schedule Released

PPG has announced the 2011 tour schedule for its popular and colorful show truck. The 75-foot 2007 Freightliner Coronado tractor-trailer rig is a self-contained mobile exhibit featuring PPG paint products in a variety of eye-catching displays. The truck will crisscross the country from March through October, stopping at major truck, car and hot rod events. These include shows sponsored by the National Street Rod Association, the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association and other truck- and car-focused organizations.

The show truck is painted with PPG Delfleet Evolution F3995 Epoxy Primer, FBC Basecoat, FBC500 Blending Clear between colors, and F3921 Clearcoat to finish. The result is some of the most spectacular custom color and design work in the industry, with the truck displaying the latest in dazzling graphics, flames, effects, and paint schemes that can be achieved with PPG products. The finished work also gives custom car and truck buffs ideas for their own imaginative schemes. The truck’s current paint scheme was designed and executed by PPG master painter Paul Stoll and a team from California-based Kelly & Son the Crazy Painters, one of the best-known and most-respected shops in the world of custom painting.

The Freightliner will be driven to all its destinations by PPG’s Chad Hook. The truck’s first appearance is scheduled for March 11-13, at the 2nd annual Spring Nationals in Scottsdale, Ariz. Among its many stops will be appearances at the 1st Spring Lone Star Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas, the 14th PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, and the Woodward Dream Cruise in Troy, Mich.
