PPG CTM Christopher Graniero Receives Highest Level of Coating Inspector Certification

PPG Commercial Coatings has announced that Christopher Graniero, PPG commercial territory manager, was certified at the highest level of CIP certification as a NACE Certified Coating Inspector—Level 3 by NACE International in Houston.

PPG Commercial Coatings has announced that Christopher Graniero, PPG commercial territory manager, was certified at the highest level of CIP certification as a NACE Certified Coating Inspector—Level 3 by NACE International in Houston.

Since 1983, the NACE CIP (Coating Inspector Program) has set the global standard for inspections in the protective coatings industry and is the world’s most recognized coating inspector certification program. More than 14,000 individuals have received coating inspector certification; only 1,500 individuals worldwide have mastered the rigors of the CIP to earn Level 3 certification. To reach this achievement, Chris successfully completed an intensive two-week training course culminating in a two-hour, oral peer-reviewed exam.

“This is quite a feat,” said Chris Pannent, director, commercial coatings, USCA. “Attaining NACE Level 3 certification can be an extremely daunting challenge. And when you realize there are only 1,500 people in the whole world to hold that status, then you can really appreciate what Chris Graniero has achieved.”

NACE International is a professional technical society dedicated to promoting public safety, protecting the environment, and reducing the economic impact of corrosion by advancing the knowledge of corrosion engineering and science. NACE has more than 29,000 members worldwide and offers technical training and certification programs, sponsors conferences, and produces industry standards and reports, publications, and software.

PPG’s Commercial Coatings group offers a full range of coating technologies for the commercial transportation and light industrial markets including polyurethanes, alkyds, epoxies, polyurea, waterborne, urethane, polysiloxane, pre-treatment chemicals, and powder coatings. PPG Commercial Coatings products are marketed under several brand names, including Delfleet Evolution, Delfleet Essential, Commercial Performance Coatings, and Amercoat.
