PPG Exhibiting at Northeast 2010 Tradeshow March 19-21

Plans include appearance by Dave Perewitz, lean and waterborne product seminars

PPG plans to exhibit at the Northeast 2010 Tradeshow this weekend (March 19-21) at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, booth 227.

The Northeast Tradeshow is in its 33rd year. The annual event is intended for members of the industry and provides opportunities for review of the latest automotive-related products and services.

With VOC emissions regulations expected to be mandated in the near future for the Northeast (OTC) region, PPG says its display will highlight its Envirobase High Performance and Aquabase Plus waterborne products.

Seminars covering the PPG “Convert with Confidence” process will demonstrate the ease of switching to PPG waterborne coatings. An MVP Throughput Solutions “Lean Six Sigma” seminar will also be presented.

Dave Perewitz, one of America’s best-known motorcycle builders and customizers, will sign autographs at the PPG booth. Regarded as a legend among hot rod, street rod, and motorcycle enthusiasts, Perewitz is the imaginative force behind Perewitz Cycle Fabrication, his family-run shop in Bridgewater, Mass. He is known for his one-of-a-kind, hand-built creations and awesome flame designs – a combination of design, engineering, performance and beauty.

PPG will also exhibit an environmentally friendly, customized 1956 Ford F-100 pickup truck. The award-winning street rod, restored by Steve’s Restorations and Hot Rods, Marcy, New York, has appeared at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the East Coast Indoor Nationals in Maryland and the Syracuse Nationals in Syracuse, New York.

The truck sports a paint scheme done with PPG’s VOC-compliant Envirobase High Performance waterborne coatings and the Vibrance Collection of custom finishes, and demonstrates the creative capabilities of PPG’s waterborne products. The pickup also features other ecologically sound attributes, including a big block Ford 460 engine that runs on 100 percent liquid propane and produces close to zero emissions.
