A Canadian body shop is offering more than a pot of coffee to worn-out customers the owner of Formula One Collision in Windsor, Ontario, recently opened a bistro in his body shop.
The bistro, Club il Cavallino, serves a rotating lunch menu prepared by a gourmet chef five days a week, the Windsor Star reported. Formula One owner Frank Gobbato, described by bistro chef Shawn Newmaster as “pretty innovative,” was just taking advantage of the food prep equipment left behind in his shop building, a former bingo hall.
In the airy restaurant, Newmaster prepares everything from slow-roasted baby back ribs to burgers, pitas and Tuscan-style salads and sandwiches.
Although the Star described Formula One’s shop as “spotless,” the bistro is separated from the garage space. Newmaster says so far, the restaurant’s been a hit with customers, shop employees and locals alike.
