Texas Auto Body Trade Show and Education Days to be Held September 16-17

This is the first major collision industry show in Texas since NACE in 2002.

The Texas Auto Body Trade Show and Education Days will be held Sept. 16-17 at the Doubletree Hotel in Richardson, Texas. This is the first major collision industry show in Texas since NACE in 2002. Mike Anderson will be the keynote speaker.

The event will be hosted by the Auto Body Association of Texas (ABAT). After the solid success of their first industry event last September, the ABAT Board was encouraged to drive its mission to bring more relevant education to make a difference for the Texas collision industry.

“We are excited to welcome the Houston Auto Body Association as a strategic business partner in the Texas market,” said Burl Richards, president of ABAT and owner of Burl’s Collision in Henderson, Texas. “HABA is a welcome addition to this great Texas event.”

The two-day program will host a full trade show with over 50 booths and various educational breakout sessions.

“This is a technician-centric event,” said ABAT Board Member Kevin Ellison, manager of Bob Tomes Collision in McKinney, Texas. “We are looking forward to bringing our technicians to this Saturday event for education and new product information. My crew is very excited about this.”

Richards added, “We want our shop owners to know they are not ‘the only one.’ They will learn that they can request certain processes and procedures on certain repairs. This show brings so much education these shops will get no place else.”

Education starts Friday afternoon with an OE panel discussion titled, “Importance of OE Repairer Recommended Procedures and Is Certification Right For You?” This panel brings industry experts to Dallas to bring the most current and up-to-date manufacturers’ recommendations, repair processes and certification information. On Saturday morning, the show will be holding technician and management-focused breakout sessions. Click here for a full training schedule.
