3M Automotive Aftermarket Division Kicks Off Fifth Year of Hire Our Heroes Program

Program provides scholarships and tool grants for deserving military members and their families.

The 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division announced it is marking its fifth year of the 3M Hire our Heroes program, in which 3M has partnered with the Collision Repair Education Foundation to donate more than $750,000 since 2013 to be used toward scholarships and tool grants for more than 210 military veterans and their families.

3M is continuing an innovative way for shops to get involved with the program with the 2017 3M Hire Our Heroes Calendar. With a $200 donation to the Collision Repair Education Foundation (designating it for the 3M Hire Our Heroes program), shops will not only be giving to a worthy cause, they will also receive the commemorative calendar which contains a total of approximately $1,700 worth of monthly deals on 3M products. In 2016, the initiative raised $210,000 for scholarships and tool grants.

“The 2016 calendar was well received by our customers and helped contribute another $210,000 to the 3M Hire Our Heroes campaign,” said Dale Ross, U.S. marketing operations manager at 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division. “We hope that this continues to bring attention to the opportunities both for our military veterans to find rewarding careers in our industry, and for our collision shop owners to seek out and hire our heroes.”

Those who make a $200 donation will be able to take advantage of exclusive product offers on a wide array of 3M products, such as the 3M PPS Sun Gun II light kit, 3M Power Tools, 3M Masking Tape, 3M Cubitron II abrasives and other 3M products. Plus, this year a bonus offer has been added: When a shop participates in all 12 months of promotional offers, they will qualify to receive a sample of new products introduced by 3M AAD in 2018. The first 500 shops who make a $200 donation will also receive a custom-painted 3M Hire Our Heroes decorative hood designed by Chip Foose, along with the calendar.

Each month, shops will receive an email with the information they need to take advantage of each offer and redeem the coupon for free products, based on their qualifying purchases, made on one invoice, and entered online at www.3MCollision.com/promo.
