3M Automotive Aftermarket Launches Spanish-Language Website for U.S. Automotive Professionals

The National Auto Body Council estimates that a growing percentage of technicians in collision and mechanical repair in the U.S. are Hispanic, yet few automotive education and resource tools are available in Spanish.

The National Auto Body Council estimates that a growing percentage of technicians in collision and mechanical repair in the U.S. are Hispanic, yet few automotive education and resource tools are available in Spanish. To address the issue, 3M Automotive Aftermarket announced it has launched a new website – located at www.3Mcollision.com/es/ – that will allow users to more easily find products, step-by-step solution guides, how-to videos, related projects and more, all in Spanish.

3M says the new website is part the company’s Industrial and Transportation businesses’ effort to provide more services and resources for the growing segment of U.S. customers who speak Spanish.

"We have translated one of 3M’s most comprehensive resources for product information, technician training and process guides for the collision repair industry into Spanish," said David Lee, e-Marketing Manager for 3M. "Now our Spanish-speaking customers can experience the same website improvements and rich media that users experience at www.3MCollision.com. We expect that our U.S. customers who speak Spanish will find this website to be very easy to use."

The new www.3mcollision.com/es/ site is designed to serve novice students to automotive experts, with helpful content for each level. From simple product and solution definitions, the user can click through to be taken to a product or solution section. All training modules and videos are linked to products, simplifying the accessibility and expanding awareness of 3M’s resources. A complete video library is included on the site.

3M Automotive Aftermarket team worked closely with auto body professionals who work as Spanish-language translators and educators to ensure the new website had broad appeal and readability. The company says it also is increasing the availability of its bi-lingual packaging for collision repair and automotive products.
