3M Awards Second VIP Grand Prize in ‘Your Ticket to the Track’ Sweepstakes

Hendrick Collision Center employees win trip to Bristol Motor Speedway.

Race fans Malissa Babbitt and Pete Gresock still can’t believe their shop won the second of five grand prize experiences in the 3M Automotive Aftermarket “Your Ticket to the Track” sweepstakes.

Gresock thought it was impossible to have such good luck. He’s the body shop manager of Hendrick Collision Center in Cary, N.C., which services 10 Hendrick franchises plus some high-end marquee stores. He and Babbitt, Hendrick Collision Center office coordinator, along with two more employees, will attend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Aug. 25, thanks to a specially marked gallon of 3M Platinum Plus Body Filler he purchased from his local distributor. Employees from the distributor, NCS, will attend the race as well.

Babbitt insisted that team members register every 3M product carrying the contest label even though Gresock thought the odds were too great to win.

“No, I didn’t think there was any chance we would win,” said Gresock. “We buy a ton of 3M products every year, so we entered every time we got one of the labels. Still, I thought someone was kidding us when we got the call.”

Gresock’s VIP prize package for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series IRWIN Tools Night Race includes round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations, NASCAR IRWIN Tools Night Race tickets, VIP tour and hospitality, and a 3M Racing merchandise bag.

One of Gresock’s favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup competitors is Dale Earnhardt Jr. out of admiration for his father, but he also admires Hendrick driver and five-time series champion Jimmie Johnson for the discipline he shows on and off the track. He and his son watch the races every weekend and never miss the final 50 laps. Although he tries to attend at least one live event each year, the grand prize trip will be his first visit to Bristol Motor Speedway.
