3M has helped 312 secondary and post-secondary collision school programs nationwide by donating more than 15,000 rolls of 3/4-inch tape and more than 22,000 rolls of 2-inch tape through the Collision Repair Education Foundation. The donation has a monetary value of roughly $250,000.
“We believe in what the Collision Repair Education Foundation stands for, and this is just our simple way in which we can help as many schools as possible," said Mark Algie, business development manager of 3M’s automotive aftermarket division. "It is our hope that these donations help in some small way so that the students, schools and ultimately the industry will benefit.”
Added Rich Chandler, collision instructor at the George Stone Technical Center in Pensacola, Fla., “On behalf of the George Stone Automotive Collision Repair and Refinish class, we would like to thank [3M] for [its] generous donation. The cost of consumable supplies eats up a major portion of our budget and the donation helped tremendously.”
