Although the compliance date for the EPA’s 6H Rule was in January, there are still some common misconceptions and confusion surrounding it. At the 2011 BodyShop Business Conference Strategies for Success, the Illinois Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP) will present an educational session on the 6H Rule, "Environmental Health & Safety Checkup," to address shops’ most-asked questions about compliance and what the rule means for collision repairers.
The conference will be held May 5, 2011 at Pheasant Run Resort in Lake Charles, Ill., and will feature a full day of educational sessions and speakers, plus an all-day trade show.
During the "Environmental Health & Safety Checkup" session, Erin Conley from the Illinois SBEAP will provide a brief overview of the rule, discuss some common misconceptions about the requirements and address the most frequently asked questions regarding compliance with the rule. In addition, a representative from the Illinois OSHA Consultation Program will discuss common mistakes body shop owners make regarding OSHA compliance.
Both the SBEAP and the OSHA Consultation Program provide free services to small businesses to help them understand and comply with state and federal regulations. If you want a tune-up on your regulatory knowledge, this is a must-attend session.
Along with this session, the conference will be packed with the latest training on waterborne/low-VOC coatings, continuous improvement, sales and marketing, social media and growth strategies.
In addition, representatives from the Illinois and Indiana SBEAPs and OSHA will be displaying at the conference’s day-long trade show, which is FREE to all area shops, regardless of whether they’re registered to attend the educational portion of the event.
Conference registration is just $129. Register and find out more here.
