AASP-MN’s Day-at-the-Capitol Event Scheduled for Feb. 23

The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers – Minnesota (AASP-MN) will host its first “Day-at-the-Capitol” event on Wednesday, Feb. 23, giving collision and automotive repair shops and suppliers the chance to educate legislators about the core issues that impact their businesses and the industry.

The event will begin with an orientation to the Minnesota Capitol complex and the legislative process. This session will prepare attendees to deliver a clear and concise message to legislators about key industry concerns, including: sales tax on paint/materials; collision shop registration; salvage title thresholds and insurer-owned repair shops.

Legislative leaders will also be on hand to provide members with an insider’s perspective of the major issues being addressed during the 2011 Legislative Session.

In addition to personal visits with their own legislators, participants will also have the opportunity to witness hearings of the House and Senate Commerce Committees – bodies through which many of AASP-MN’s legislative initiatives must pass.

For more information about this event, visit www.aaspmn.org or contact the AASP-MN office at 612-623-1110.
