AASP/NJ Continues to Update Members During COVID-19 Crisis

AASP/NJ continues to provide its members with key information and resources to help guide their businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) continues to provide its members with key information and resources to help guide their businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“From the time this first started, AASP/NJ has been providing notices to our members on how to deal with the issues as they arise or change from day to day, including webinars and contacts for organizations that can assist with any concerns that result from the pandemic,” said Charles Bryant, executive director of AASP/NJ. “We continue to research and provide links to important information.”

One of AASP/NJ’s most unique and valuable benefits is its hotline, which is available to members to call all day, every day for answers to questions on topics including insurance claims, environmental issues, compliance with laws, rules and regulations or licensing.

“Since the outbreak, the AASP/NJ hotline has been ringing non-stop, and members are so grateful to know that they have a place to turn for answers to their questions in this difficult time,” said Bryant. “AASP/NJ is constantly watching what is going on and seeking answers to problems that are being reported to the hotline. The association is here and ready to assist with any issues that arise. If we don’t have the answers, we will go and get them, report back to those members and share this information with others.”

Bryant reminds members that unity is important, especially during these unprecedented times, and urges members to utilize the benefits AASP/NJ provides such as the hotline, labor pool, equipment exchange and AASP/NJ benefit provider programs that provide discounts on workers’ compensation and garage insurance, credit card processing and more.

“Our final message to all AASP/NJ members is stay strong and safe and know that you are not alone. The future will shine bright again soon.”

Auto Care Association Applauds FTC, DOJ Comments on Right to Repair

The comments were in support of the renewal and expansion of exemptions facilitating consumers’ and businesses’ right to repair their own products.

The Auto Care Association is applauding recent comments the FTC and DOJ made supporting renewal and expansion of exemptions facilitating consumers’ and businesses’ right to repair their own products.

"Auto Care Association supports the Joint Comment of the DOJ and the FTC encouraging the Librarian of Congress to renew and expand repair-related exemptions that would promote competition in markets for replacement parts, repair and maintenance services, as well as facilitate competition in markets for repairable products," said Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association. "In particular, on behalf of the entire automotive aftermarket, Auto Care Association agrees with the DOJ and the FTC that the Class 7 exemption to allow vehicle owners and repair facilities greater access to vehicle diagnostic and telematics data for monitoring purposes is critically important to lower the cost of repairs, improve access to repair services, and minimize costly and inconvenient delays."
