Airgas, Inc. has donated nearly 200 welding helmets to the I-CAR Education Foundation. The helmets will be distributed this fall to schools around the country with automotive collision programs. This $21,000 in-kind product donation contains a variety of passive, shade and auto-darkening helmets that will be distributed to schools that identify a need for welding helmets as part of their Ultimate Collision Education Makeover school grant.
“We’re very happy to be able to help the I-CAR Education Foundation and local schools by contributing welding helmets,” said David Levin, Airgas vice president for hardgoods. “During times like this, when school budgets and resources are stretched, it’s important for businesses to step forward and invest in the education and future of our young people.”
I-CAR Education Foundation Executive Director Scott Kruger added, “These welding helmets are an incredible first-time donation from Airgas to the foundation and will be put to good use by schools around the country. With many schools’ budgets being restrained or cut, Airgas’ donation helps provide schools with equipment that will keep their collision students safe and the opportunity to work with the latest in repair equipment and technology.”
