AkzoNobel Named Diamond Supplier by Navistar

AkzoNobel Car Refinishes North America announced that Navistar International Corporation recently recognized the company as a Diamond Supplier for 2009.

The designation is awarded each year to a certain number of suppliers who exceed performance expectations for quality, delivery and responsiveness; demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement; and meet warranty, pricing, and strategic guidelines, according to AkzoNobel.

AkzoNobel provides automotive coatings and related products for commercial vehicles produced by Navistar, including buses and trucks.

"AkzoNobel consistently demonstrates exceptional effort in helping us to improve process efficiencies and reduce material usage," said Ray Vargocko, supply manager, purchasing and logistics, Navistar, Inc. "We reserve the Diamond Supplier designation for suppliers who go above and beyond expectations. AkzoNobel has earned this award by delivering the products and support we require, plus innovative ideas to help us control costs."

"We are very proud to be named a Diamond Supplier by Navistar, and we value the opportunity to collaborate with Navistar to improve its operations. This award recognizes our ongoing commitment to working with our customers to achieve their goals and helping them to operate more efficiently," said David Davis, director of sales for commercial finishes for AkzoNobel.
