AkzoNobel Sikkens Acoat selected Shops Recognized for Achievements

AkzoNobel announced the top performing Sikkens Acoat selected shops for 2010. Formal recognition ceremonies were conducted at the recently held 17th Annual Summer Conference in Chicago, Ill.

The Acoat selected program, found in collision repair centers throughout Europe and the Americas, is one the longest running business services programs in the aftermarket sector. Members represent many of the largest and most progressive collision repair centers in the North American market, AkzoNobel says. Recognition for advancement is given in three areas: Growth, Pride and the coveted Business of the Year.

“Collectively, our Acoat selected members have done well in a challenging economy,” said Mike Sillay, services manager for AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Americas. “The businesses that were recognized for their superlative performance showed an average 27.5 percent growth over the prior 12-month period. The ability of these businesses to thrive in such a difficult environment is a testament to their business prowess.”

Growth Awards:

• Rusty Eck Ford – Wichita, Kan.
• Autocraft Downtown – Wichita, Kan.
• Collision Plus Inc – O’Fallon, Ill.
• Brandywine Coachworks – West Chester, Pa.
• Tony’s Body Shop – Oxnard, Calif.
• Ellis & Salazar Delta Body & Frame – Austin, Texas
• A1 Body & Glass – Boca Raton, Fla.

The Acoat selected Pride Award went to two businesses: Holmes Body Shop in Pasadena, Calif., and Park Place Bodyworks in Dallas, Texas. This award is presented to those businesses that aggressively seek ways to promote the Acoat selected program, AkzoNobel says. Consideration for receiving this honor includes positive community involvement, improving the image of the collision repair industry and demonstrated excellence in attracting, developing and retaining employees.

The Business of the Year Award went to Moody’s Collision Centers  in Portland, Me. AkzoNobel says this is the most prestigious of all Acoat selected awards. Candidates for this award must demonstrate exceptional financial performance, customer service excellence and entrepreneurial flair.
