AkzoNobel to Provide Sikkens Autowave to Top Volume Chevrolet Dealership’s Shops

AkzoNobel announced that Classic Chevrolet of Grapevine, Texas, has selected the Sikkens Autowave waterborne paint system for all of its collision repair centers in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

“We compared their waterborne solution against three other suppliers for about 18 months,” said David Osburn, director of collision repair for the Classic group. “AkzoNobel and Autowave were superior all the way around. It took one day of spraying for our painters to be convinced.”

Classic Chevrolet is the nation’s No. 1 volume Chevrolet dealer and is owned by Tom Durant, who owns seven other dealerships in the area. Durant has also recently opened two new Chevrolet dealerships in Tampa, Fla., and in Sugar Land, Texas.

“An operation like Classic Chevrolet doesn’t just happen. They got to where they are today by making a lot of smart decisions that delighted their customers and kept them coming back,” said AB Ghosh, general manager of AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Americas. “We are pleased to now count the AkzoNobel Sikkens brand and the Autowave paint system as two of those smart decisions.”
