The Associated Press reported that Allstate spent $650,000 to lobby the federal government in the fourth quarter of 2009. Issues targeted by Allstate include consumer protection and health care.
The total is down from the third quarter, when Allstate spent $770,000 on lobbying, but up from the $630,000 it spent in the fourth quarter of 2008, the Associated Press says.
Allstate also lobbied Congress and the Department of Treasury on the following issues: National Insurance Consumer Protection Act, flood insurance, federal disaster planning, homeowner and responsible lending practices and financial regulatory reform, according to the Associated Press.
