The Wall Street Journal reported Sept. 21st that Apple Inc. is now accelerating its efforts to build an electric car and has set a target ship date for 2019, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Wall Street Journal has also found that leaders of the project have been given permission to triple the 600-person team.
Apple’s commitment is a sign that the company sees a viable opportunity to become a player in the automotive industry.
