Atlas Copco Compressors has announced that it will be featured in upcoming episodes of "Outcast Kustoms," a new show on Velocity by Discovery Channel, a recently-launched network that caters to an upscale male lifestyle. Outcast Kustoms features the vehicle fabrication work of Kelvin Locklear and his team as they transform ordinary big rigs and recreational vehicles into one-of-a-kind, rolling pieces of diesel-powered artwork.
Locklear uses three GX11 Atlas Copco compressors, including the Atlas Copco AIRnet aluminum lightweight compressed air piping system, which Atlas Copco claims installs approximately 66 percent faster than iron compressed air piping systems. Two of the compressors are located in the compressor room, and a stand-alone piston compressor resides on the shop floor.
“It’s so important to have someone like Atlas Copco on board because, when we’re painting these types of big vehicles, the air has to be dry and it has to be there when we need it,” Locklear said. “It’s a game changer.”
Added Robert Eshelman, vice president and business line manager for Atlas Copco’s U.S. Industrial Air Division, "We’re extremely proud of the partnership we’ve built with Kelvin and his dedicated Outcast Kustoms crew. This is also a great way to showcase how the Atlas Copco AIRnet system is flexible to change and can conform with any customized need.”
