Autometric Collision Opens Eighth Michigan Location

Autometric Collision opened its eighth location in Michigan, this one in Troy. Autometric will occupy most of the 27,000-square-foot complex, with the rest of the space housing John R. Glass and Dynamic Dents.

Larry Smith, owner of Autometric Collision, told the Oakland Press Business: “The team in this building meets a real set of needs for commercial and retail customers. In addition to providing services to the dealers here at The Troy Motor Mall, we’re located ideally to service hundreds of thousands of people who live and work in the area.”

The Press also reported that Smith said he saw an opportunity to bring together existing companies that do related but non-competitive work. “By having all of us in this one location, it’ll be much easier for a customer to get just the service they need and save money.”

Smith reportedly spent nearly $2 million on the building. The collision repair facility currently employs nine at the Troy location, but has the potential to employ 20.

Smith started Autometric Collision in 1975, opening his first shop in Center Line. The other locations are Eastpointe, Royal Oak, Pontiac (two), Utica and Southfield.
