Axalta’s Brilliant Flames paint scheme returned to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Saturday, May 10, and Jeff Gordon brought home a victory at Kansas Speedway.
The event marked Kansas Speedway’s inaugural night race. With inaugural race wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (1994), Auto Club Speedway in Fontana (1997), Kansas Speedway (2001) and now Kansas Speedway in 2014, the No. 24 team has seen its share of firsts.
"Racing under the lights is always exciting," said Wade Robinson, North America strategic marketing and Axalta Racing director. "But Brilliant Flames’ return to the track at night was even better. The black basecoat was infused with a specialty pigment that we call brilliance, and the fluorescent yellow, red and orange flames popped under the night lights. This car looked hot Saturday night."
