Baker’s Collision Repair Specialists, located in Mansfield, Ohio, hosted a successful open house on Saturday, Oct. 5, celebrating the company’s 60 years in business.
Ohio State Representative Mark Romanchuk, representing Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, presented certificates of recognition to the company. Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker was also in attendance.
Baker’s has been family-owned and operated since it was founded by Mervin and Esther Baker in the fall of 1953. Starting out in a two-car garage on Snyder Street in Mansfield, it has now expanded to its current 40-stall facility that has been located on 5th Ave. since 1956.
Honorable dignitaries, customers, family and friends participated in facility tours, during which shop staff gave various overviews and demonstrations of the painting and repair processes.
In addition, NASCAR fans were in attendance and enjoyed talking with a representative from Roush Racing about the 3M- and Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes-sponsored No. 16 Greg Biffle stock car. All attendees were treated to a lunch of hot dogs and bratwurst, and an iPad was given away to one lucky attendee.
"This day was to honor all of the generations of customers that have made it possible for Baker’s to continue to be of service to them," said a company spokesperson.
