BASF to Display Two Specialty Vehicles at 2012 Woodward Dream Cruise

Trans Ams will showcase company's latest automotive finishes.

When the 2012 Woodward Dream Cruise kicks off on Aug. 18, BASF Automotive Refinish Solutions will display two specialty vehicles from Trans Am Depot painted with BASF’s R-M OnyxHD waterborne automotive finishes.

BASF’s Dream Cruise display will be located at Morisette Automotive on Woodward Ave., just south of 13 Mile Road in Royal Oak, Mich.

In addition to the two custom vehicles, BASF will also feature colors from its Carizzma paint line — a low volatile organic compound (VOC) refinishing solution offering a wide range of colors and virtually limitless effects.

The vehicles on display at the Dream Cruise include:

7t7 Hurst Edition Trans Am: A tribute to the classic 1977 Trans Am, the 7t7 features the DB403 OnyxHD Factory-Pack, a deep black waterborne base coat, custom Hurst Gold OnyxHD base coat and an R-M 5335 Glamour Clear top coat.

6t9 Goat Trans Am: A tribute to the 1969 GTO Judge, the 6t9 features the Inferno Orange Metallic OnyxHD waterborne base coat and a RM 5335 Glamour Clear top coat.

"What better place to showcase the results of our innovative paint colors and easy-to-use paint systems than at the world’s largest one-day automotive event?" said Vitor Margaronis, marketing director, BASF. "These incredible vehicles on display… demonstrate what BASF can offer to customers seeking fresh options in car color that are also cost-effective and user-friendly.”

The Woodward Dream Cruise is presented by Chevrolet and is the world’s largest one-day celebration of car culture. It attracts more than one million visitors and more than 50,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles.
