Body Shop Gives Away $200 in Effort to Build Facebook Fan Base

In an effort to reach out to area customers using social media, Maryland-based Preston Autobody recently awarded $200 to one of its Facebook fans as part of a challenge to build its fan base on the social networking site.

The shop challenged its fans to help it reach 1,000 fans by Feb. 12 and promised a $500 reward to a fan once the goal was reached. Preston says it fell short of its goal with only 880 fans by Feb. 12, but Preston Vice President David Wilson Sr. thought that it was such a great effort from all the fans that he still awarded one Facebook fan with $200. Preston says it’s now hoping to gain 2,000 fans on its Facebook page by March 17.

“We should have no problem reaching our goal of 2,000 fans. All of our fans and customers are amazing – no one could ask for better ones,” says Diana Vincent of Preston Autobody.

Once the fan page reaches its goal, the shop says another fan will be awarded $500 in cash.
