I-CAR, ASE, I-CAR Education Foundation, NATEF and Celette announced that Edward Phillips, manager of Desert Rose Collision in Tulsa, Okla., is the winner of an Elektron Multispot MI-100 welder donated by Elektron Inc. at NACE 2009.
The drawing was co-sponsored by Celette, I-CAR, ASE, I-CAR Education Foundation and NATEF. Celette and Elektron are owned and operated by The Equinox Group.
“The Elektron welder will be a great asset to our shop,” said Phillips. “At NACE, we were exposed to a lot of new information and technology, and it’s great that from our visit at NACE we were recipients of not only new information, but a brand new piece of equipment as well.”
“It’s important for us to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies and to be I-CAR-trained and ASE-certified,” Phillips added. “It truly shows the rest of the industry and our customers evidence of our knowledge and expertise.”
To be eligible to receive the welder, individuals had to be I-CAR-trained and ASE-certified, or have attended an ASE-certified NATEF career and technical school or college that utilizes the I-CAR curriculum.
