The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) announced a new labeling program for certified plastic parts such as bumper covers that have a waterborne low volatile organic compound (VOC) primer.
Manufacturers of CAPA Certified plastic parts, such as bumper covers, fenders, hoods and grilles, that utilize waterborne primer systems will have the opportunity to have their primers tested and the processes validated in order to be approved to use the new label.
CAPA’s validator, Intertek, will perform the VOC testing that will be required for the new CAPA labeling program. For additional information about Intertek’s VOC testing capabilities, visit http://www.intertek.com/chemicals/voc-testing/.
