Factory Five Racing, the world’s largest manufacturer of component car kits, announced at its 13th Annual Open House on June 12 that Carl’s Collision Center, of Fall River, Mass., and ChemSpec USA were named the official painter and paint for the internationally renowned company. The designation is rarely used by the company, which has many partners it works with on the development and production of Factory Five cars.
Dave Smith, the president of Factory Five Racing, used the unveiling of their next generation GTM Supercar, painted by Carl’s with Metalux’s high performance automotive refinish products by ChemSpec USA, as the backdrop for the announcement. This GEN 2 model is the first major overhaul of the GTM Supercar since it was introduced in 2006, and according to Smith, it was not easy improving a car that is faster 0-60 mph than a Ferrari Enzo, a Porsche GT and a Saleen Twin Turbo S7. But with engineering support from Solidworks Corp. and General Motor Performance, they were able to do so.
“All of that hard work would have been a waste if the car didn’t outshine world class Supercars, and that’s where the team at Carl’s Collision and ChemSpec USA came in, delivering looks that will light people’s hair on fire and for sure back up the car’s stellar performance,” said Smith. “I am pleased to announce today that we are naming Carl’s Collision Center of Fall River, Mass., and ChemSpec USA the official painter and paint of Factory Five Racing.”
"ChemSpec USA is honored to be named the official paint company for Factory Five Racing,” said Ron Snow, national sales manager for ChemSpec USA. “As a World Class paint supplier, we are proud of what we can bring to the world’s largest manufacturer of component car kits. It was also an honor to partner with such a quality shop as Carl’s Collision Center on this exciting project. We work with quality paint and repair shops all over the world and Carl’s Collision is clearly one of the best in the business.”
The new Supercar will be on display at the Factory Five Racing booth at SEMA.
Information about Carl’s Collision and ChemSpec USA will also be available at their booth.
