CARSTAR Honors Veterans and Active Duty Military with National Military Month Celebration

This month, CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts says it will honor America’s active duty and military veterans with a special celebration for National Military Month. It will include local market festivities for Veterans Day on Nov. 11 and special fundraising initiatives to help families of those serving the country.

CARSTAR is working with national and local military support groups at locations around the country.  Participating CARSTAR stores will participate in Veterans Day parades, host celebrations for local military members and salute the many contributions made by America’s military members, according to the company.

"On behalf of the many veterans who are employees and customers of the CARSTAR family, I’m proud that we are embarking on the third year of a program at our facilities to help the heroes who serve our country and their families," said David Byers, CEO of CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts.

As part of the celebration, CARSTAR says it’s working with select national military support organizations including the VFW, Fisher House and VA hospitals along with supporting Adopt a Troop campaigns.

Wicklunds CARSTAR Collision Center in Liberty, Mo., held a Military Appreciation Day on Nov. 4. The event included a 21-gun salute, food, beverages, door prizes and free Kansas City Royals t-shirts. Wicklunds CARSTAR also gave away a 1998 Aerostar van with a wheelchair lift to a disabled veteran with a spinal cord injury in partnership with Cars 4 Heroes.

In Seattle, the CARSTAR stores in the Puget Sound area are providing active duty military members and veterans  with "winter readiness checks" to prepare their vehicles for driving in cold, wet weather. This includes checking headlights and tail lights, fluids and air systems. In addition, military members can register to win a $150 gift certificate for a popular local restaurant, CARSTAR noted.

"It’s an honor to be able to give back to our military members and their families who make so many contributions to protect our freedom and way of life," said Byers. "We encourage CARSTAR customers across the country to help support this important effort."

In the past 20 years, CARSTAR says it has worked closely with military support groups and other philanthropic groups to help repair vehicles for families in need.
